    Frequently asked questions

What makes Keder 3D Filament different from standard PLA?

We engineer our PLA filament with an industrial mindset: consistent diameter, strong bed adhesion, and minimal print failures — plus finishes that look great, glossy or matte.
Each batch is tested for diameter accuracy, flow consistency, and print surface quality to ensure reliable performance. Unlike commodity spools where you “hope it works,” every roll we ship is verified for printability.

Can I use this filament on any FDM/FFF 3D printer?

Yes — as long as your printer supports 1.75 mm PLA.No exotic conditions required. Heated bed and cooling fan are optional but can help fine-tune your results and get the most from our premium material.

What print settings do you recommend (temperature, bed, etc.)?

These ranges work well for most of our PLA colors and finishes:

    • Nozzle: 200 – 220 °C
    • Bed: 50 – 60 °C (PEI sheet recommended for best results)
    • Speed: 40 – 60 mm/s

We’ll publish detailed profiles for each color and finish so you can dial in quickly.

Why is bed adhesion so important — and how do you address it?

If the first layer doesn’t stick, the print fails.
We’ve engineered our formulation to grip common bed surfaces right from the first layer, reducing curling and early detachment. Still, always ensure your bed is level, clean, and use a brim or raft for tricky shapes.

What causes print failures, and how does your filament reduce them?

Failures often come from inconsistent diameter, moisture, or poor adhesion. We control diameter tightly, dry filament before spooling, and test extrusion flow to prevent mid-print clogs or under-extrusion that can ruin long jobs.
The result: fewer failed prints, less wasted time, and smoother results.

What finishes and colors are available?

We offer flat matte and glossy color options, each tested for even finish, smooth layer bonding, and reliable extrusion.
Whether you’re printing a polished showpiece, a classroom model, or a functional prototype, you’ll get consistent looks and performance.

Is this filament suitable for education and professional use?

    Absolutely.
Our PLA is low-odor and classroom-safe, yet precise enough for professional applications. Built for durability, consistency, and easy use, it keeps both students and pros focused on the print — not the problems.

How do I store your filament to ensure peak performance?

Keep it dry, cool, and sealed when not in use. Our packaging includes desiccant but isn’t resealable — we recommend transferring opened spools to a zip bag or dry box.
For long-term storage (over 3 months), a filament dryer helps maintain optimal print quality.

How strong is your PLA — and when should I choose something else?

Our formula balances rigidity with layer adhesion to reduce brittleness, making it strong enough for prototypes, fixtures, jigs, and functional prints.
It’s less prone to snapping than lower-grade PLAs, with verified tensile and impact performance from manufacturer testing.
If you need higher heat tolerance, UV resistance, or chemical durability, we’ll help you choose the right specialty filament (PETG, ABS, Nylon, etc.).

What support do you provide if I run into problems?

We’re not just a materials supplier — we’re print people.
If you hit a snag, our print experts can help with slicer tuning, temperature adjustments, or troubleshooting results. We come from an industrial engineering background through Keder Solutions, so you get advice that’s practical, not generic.

    Note on Verified Data

We have official strength and safety data (MSDS and performance sheets) from our manufacturing partner. To protect proprietary information, we summarize verified results rather than publish raw documents — but rest assured, all values are lab-tested and validated for accuracy. Transparency and reliability remain core to how we do business.

    Return Policy / Final Sale

Unopened filament can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. Used spools and opened packaging are final sale.

When will I get my order?

Orders typically ship within 1–2 business days from our Wisconsin facility.

    Where are your products manufactured?

Designed and tested, in the USA — produced with US Virgin Resin in partnership with our trusted overseas Chinese manufacturer to meet our quality standards.
